What are Wheel Locks
What are wheel locks? Wheel locks are designed to prevent thieves from stealing rims off your car. Wheel locks consist of four special lug nuts and one key. As seen below lug nuts have a specific pattern that only the key that comes with the set can install or remove them. Below is a picture of what a set looks like.
How To Use Wheel Locks
Take a look at the photo above and you will notice the four lug nuts with the key in the center. In order to install or remove the lug nuts use the key in the center of the package. Insert the key into the socket that you use to take off all the other normal lug nuts and then use the socket wrench to install or remove the wheel lock lug nuts. Only one wheel lock per wheel is needed. When installing any lug nut make sure they are torqued down to the proper specification. Be sure to keep the wheel lock key with you or your car at all times. You will need the key if you get a flat tire or when you bring your car in for service.
